How does wagr work?
You make a friendly wager with someone you know — on a real game or on anything at all — and wagr keeps score. When a game ends, wagr settles the wager from the final score automatically. The Ledger remembers who owes whom until you square up.
Does wagr handle the money?
No. Never. wagr has no wallet, no balance, no deposits, and no cash-out. There is no house and no rake. When it’s time to settle, you pay your friend directly — Venmo, PayPal, cash, whatever you already use — and each of you confirms it in the app. wagr is the notebook, not the bookmaker.
How do bets settle?
Wagers on real games settle automatically from the final score, usually within a few minutes of the game ending. Custom wagers (“you can’t run a 6-minute mile”) settle when both people declare the same outcome. If you disagree, the wager is voided and nobody pays. In a group, the commissioner can settle a disputed wager.
A bet settled wrong. What now?
Email us with the two people involved and the game. If a final score was wrong or a wager settled against the terms you agreed, we can correct it.
2Safety and reporting#
Someone is being offensive
Open their profile, tap the ⋯ menu, and choose Report. To report a specific wager or its trash talk, open the wager and tap Report this bet at the bottom. Reports are private — the person you report is never told. We review reports and act within 24 hours, up to and including removing content and suspending accounts.
Blocking
Block is on the same profile menu. Blocking stops any new wagers or friend requests between you, in both directions. Wagers you already have open still settle normally — blocking never erases money owed, in either direction. You can see and undo your blocks in Settings › Privacy › Blocked users.
Who can use wagr
You must be 18 or older, and wagr is offered only in the United States. Wagering between individuals is regulated differently from state to state — if it isn’t lawful where you are, don’t use wagr.
3Your account#
Notifications
Turn push notifications on or off in Settings › Notifications, or in iOS Settings. To silence one person without blocking them, open their profile, tap the ⋯ menu, and choose Mute notifications.
Deleting your account
Settings › Delete account. This permanently deletes your profile, photo, friends, and sign-in, and frees your email address. Open offers you haven’t had accepted are cancelled.
Wagers that were already accepted or settled stay in your friends’ ledgers, with your name removed. That’s deliberate: those records are their history too, and a real debt between two people shouldn’t vanish because one of them left. Deletion cannot be undone.
I can’t sign in
Use Forgot password on the sign-in screen. If the reset email doesn’t arrive within a few minutes, check spam, then email us — if the account was deleted, the address is free to sign up again.
